Stacey Brown

Born and raised in Kamloops BC, Canadian composer Stacey Brown's musical output is diverse and demonstrates a marked interest in interdisciplinary and multimedia collaborations. Her creative projects range from opera and music theatre, to music for dance and film, to solo, vocal, chamber, mixed and large ensemble pieces. An active researcher and educator, Stacey Brown is also the author of music analysis articles published in the journal l'education musicale (France). An Associate of the Canadian Music Centre and a member of the Canadian League of Composers, the Canadian New Music Network, and SOCAN, her composition teachers have included Michael Longton, John Celona, Michel Longtin, Denis Gougeon, and Isabelle Panneton. Stacey Brown holds composition degrees from the University of Victoria (BMUS) and from the Universite de Montreal (MMUS, DMUS).
