Naren Rauch grew up in Los Angeles and wrote his first piece for the piano when he was 5 years old. He graduated from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, studying guitar and composition. He moved to New York when he was 18 years old and attended the Manhattan School of Music, graduating in 1999 with a degree in Jazz Guitar.
As a guitar player, Naren has done multiple tours of Europe, Asia, United States, as well as performed at Lincoln Center NY, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Strawberry Music Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, WFPK Waterfront Wednesday Concert Series (Louisville, KY).Naren has recorded with Laptop (Universal/Island records), The Navigators (Velour Records), Sony Music and appeared on GLR (UK), BBC Radio 1 (UK), NBC (USA). WFPK (USA),Woodsongs Radio Hour (USA).
As an audio engineer, he has engineered for Les Sans Culotte (Vibratone Records), Leftover Crack (Fat Wreck Chords). He recently recorded and mixed Christian McLeer's Requiem for full orchestra and choir.
As a composer Naren has written music for numerous TV commercials (Saturn, Fanta, AT&T, Adidas) as well as for film and TV. In 2003 he had his pieces performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland as a collaboration with the visual art work of his sister Sarada Rauch.
