Mark Vigil

"My love for the art and craft of composition is responsible for my impulsive and perilous personal music history. It is a history that has been both scary and wonderful. The passion and inspiration for composition has been and will always be derived from my private little inner world--a world that I hope is full of life." - Mark Vigil
Mark Vigil received his Bachelor's degree in piano and composition from Cornish Institute in Seattle, Washington, in 1981. At Cornish he studied piano with Corri Celli and Jessie Parker. He studied composition with Janice Guiteck at the University of Oregon School of Music. Mark Vigil also studied composition with Robert Kyr and Hal Owen. Mark Vigil received a Master's degree from the University of Oregon in 1996.

Despite diverse interests and tastes in music, Mark Vigil has not deviated from a singular course in compositional direction. Composition exists for him exclusively as an expression of his heart.

Recently finishing a body of chamber works lintending to begin work on primarily orchestral compositions.
