Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame featuring Yumi Suehiro

Anounncing Selections
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame
featuring Yumi Suehiro (2025)

Vox Novus is proud to announce the selected composers for the 2025 edition of Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame featuring pianist Yumi Suehiro, to be presented in November 2025 at the Ellington Room in New York City.

Born in Osaka, Japan, Yumi Suehiro began piano studies at age six and marimba at seven. She is the youngest winner of the Kobe International Competition, and has since built an extraordinary international career. A graduate of Lehman College (CUNY) and the Manhattan School of Music, Suehiro has appeared at major festivals such as June in Buffalo, Darmstädter Ferienkurse, and Sound of Stockholm, and is a core member of Ensemble Mise-en. Her most recent album, Hans Thomalla: Complete Works for Solo Piano, is available on Sideband Records.

For this special set, fifteen composers have each created a one-minute work written especially for Yumi Suehiro, exploring the full expressive range of the piano—from fragile introspection to bold, kinetic brilliance.

SELECTED COMPOSERS AND WORKS

  • Bracha Bdil (Israel) – Bells
  • David Bohn (USA) – Decorated Oscillation
  • Richard Campanelli (USA) – Hummingbirds
  • Brendan Colbert (Australia) – ...this moment...
