This episode spotlights Bohn’s live concert performance at Hawthorn Contemporary Art Gallery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, transforming miniature masterpieces into a compelling audiovisual experience. A longtime advocate for contemporary music and unique instrumentation, David Bohn brings the charm and unexpected power of the toy piano into the spotlight. With a repertoire that is bold, whimsical, and deeply inventive, Bohn continues to expand the instrument’s artistic reach. His collaboration with Vox Novus and Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame highlights his commitment to accessible, high-impact performance of new works. This featured concert performance includes premieres from 15 composers around the world: Ali A'râb, Erik Branch, Marek Feddern, Wajdi Abou Diab, Alp Durmaz, Ulf Grahn, Anna Vienna Ho, Satoru Ikeda, Wenbin Lyu, Maria Christine Muyco, Sergio Naddei, Ryan Charles Ramer, Volker Ignaz Schmidt, Juan María Solare, and Motohide Taguchi. Each composer contributes a uniquely imagined 60-second work, resulting in a kaleidoscopic program that ranges from virtuosic and experimental to playful and poetic—perfectly suited to the intimate scale and quirky timbre of the toy piano. Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame, created by Robert Voisey and produced by Vox Novus, is a global initiative that has premiered thousands of one-minute pieces by composers worldwide. The Composer’s Voice TV series brings these works to a broader audience through compelling performances, interviews, and cultural context. Composer’s Voice, created by Robert Voisey and produced by Vox Novus, continues its mission to present dynamic, living voices in new music through short-format, high-impact episodes that bring performers and composers directly into the spotlight. Each episode is a curated mix of performance, dialogue, and discovery. Episodes of Composer's Voice air its half-hour show every 2 weeks on Saturday at 2:00 PM EdT (UTC-4) on NYC cable access TV with Manhattan Neighborhood's Network channel 2.
