Tune in Saturday, May 24th, 2025 2:00 PM EDT (UTC-4) to Composer's Voice on Manhattan Neighborhood Network for an intimate half-hour featuring the remarkable young cellist Shelby Camp and her father, acclaimed cellist Craig Hultgren.

Shelby Camp is a dedicated music major at Rowan University, where she serves as the principal cellist of the orchestra and string ensemble under the guidance of renowned cellist Udi Bar-David. A gifted musician from a young age, Shelby made her debut as a soloist with the Moscow Ballet at just 13 years old. Her passion and technical skill continue to captivate audiences, carrying forward the musical legacy shared with her father.

Craig Hultgren, a celebrated cellist known for his "impressive poise and sensitivity" (New York Classical Review), has inspired the creation of over 300 solo compositions. Now residing in Iowa as a farmer-cellist, Hultgren's innovative approach to the cello has left a significant mark on contemporary music.

Experience the unique bond and shared artistry of this father-daughter duo on Composer's Voice, blending generations of talent and dedication to the cello.

Composer's Voice showcases full contemporary works from living composers by musicians who champion new music.

Episodes of Composer's Voice air its half-hour show every 2 weeks on Saturday at 2:00 PM EDT (UTC-4) on NYC cable access TV with Manhattan Neighborhood's Network channel 2.

On May 25th, 2025 Composers Concordance returns to DROM for the 15th Annual Comp-Play-Comp Marathon, featuring, naturally, this year’s theme: 'Motion.' More than 20 innovative composer-performers will present freshly-minted works in a relaxed, joyful setting in which creativity and experimentation take center stage. The annual marathon focuses on the simple question "What kind of music do composers write when they know they are one of the performers?" For 15 years, we've continued to explore this idea, and always find the responses to be both surprising and artistically satisfying.

Featured compositions this year include Gene Pritsker's 'Hand Motion'; Makia Matsumura's 'Piano Rain II'; Maria Tegzes's 'Timelapse Aperture'; and Debra Kaye's 'Ukraine 2022' with a poem by Roger Aplon.

The full list of composer / performers includes Seth Boustead, Angela Babin, Dan Cooper, Artie Dibble, Evan Francis.Debra Kaye, Joshua Mirman, Makia Matsumura, Sam Muccio, Alon Nechushtan,Gene Pritsker, Ted Sabety, Steve Sandberg, David Saperstein, Wade Schuman, Maria Tegzes, Robert Voisey, David Wolfson, Mark Zaki, Lesi Mei - piano, Todd Rewoldt - sax, Mark Svenvold, Martha Hollander - Vocals, Roger Aplon - recitation, Elam Friedlander - Acoustic Bass, Hamir Atwal - Drums.

All five festival concerts will also be live-streamed on Composers Concordance's Facebook Page. Join us for all five bold and eclectic performances as we celebrate the pulse of contemporary music in New York City—and the visionary composers who make it the global hub of boundary-pushing sound.
