Beyond the stage, Joe is a respected orchestral musician and educator, dividing his time between Gloucester and Cambridge, MA. Robert Anton Strobel is a Colorado-based composer known for crafting emotionally resonant works that explore themes of history and distant places. With over 20 commissions from esteemed ensembles like the Ladyslipper Ensemble and the Barlow Endowment, his music has earned recognition from organizations such as the Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts and The American Prize in Orchestral Music. Strobel's compositions have been published internationally and featured on radio broadcasts. A dedicated researcher and presenter, he has shared his insights at the Aspen Composer’s Conference and holds a doctorate in composition. Recorded at Futura Studios, this performance includes LaRocca's original improvisations, blending Strobel's evocative soundscape with a unique, personal touch.
