Fifteen Minutes of Fame is a collection of 15 one-minute acoustic works composed specifically for a specific performer or ensemble.
The purpose of Fifteen Minutes of Fame is to promote a great variety of contemporary music to audiences hungry to hear what living composers are writing today. The project series seeks one minute music composition from composers working in any style and aesthetic.
"...the 15 Minutes of Fame project of Vox Novus is a godsend. It organizes competitions whereby ensembles commission worldwide calls for submissions of approximately one-minute pieces, and then select their 15 favorites for premieres. The players, themselves emerging and without the funds for a traditional commission fee, get original works to present, while the likewise emerging composers get a chance for exposure and a premiere for minimal effort and commitment." - Seth Gilman, NY Music Culture Examiner
Since the beginning of the project, there have been more than 20 calls for different musicians/ensembles and has premiered more than 300 composer's works in New York City works from different composers.
Upcoming Fifteen Minutes of Fame performances can be found on the concert page.
