Born in Osaka, Japan, Pianist Yumi Suehiro began studying piano at age 6, and marimba a year later. In Japan, Ms. Suehiro won numerous national and international competitions, including the top prize at the Kobe International Competition as the youngest winner.
An undergraduate scholarship student at Lehman College (CUNY), she graduated magna cum laude, and she received her Master of Music degree in piano performance from the Manhattan School of Music as a student of Zenon Fishbein and Peter Vinograde. While at Manhattan, she won second prize in the school’s 2010 concerto competition (with John Harbison’s Piano Concerto), and in 2011 was chosen to perform Richard Wilson’s “Flashback” for Pierre-Laurent Aimard’s master class.
Ms. Suehiro has appeared at numerous festivals for contemporary music, such as June in Buffalo, the Princeton Sound Kitchen, NUNC! (Chicago), Red Note (IL), New Music New College (FL), Sound of Stockholm, and the Darmstädter Ferienkurse (where she received an honorable mention). She is a core member of Ensemble Mise-en, with which she performed Ligeti's Piano Concerto in January 2017. Most recently, her recording of Hans Thomalla’s complete works for solo piano was released on Sideband Records.
She has taught at Lehman College (CUNY), and has served on the faculty at Lehman College Continuing Education.
Bracha Bdil (1988) is an Israeli-British composer, conductor, and pianist, winner of the Prime Minister's Award for Composition (Israel, 2022) and the ACUM Award (2019). Her repertoire spans different mediums including orchestral music, chamber, vocal and electronic music. Bracha's compositions have won several first prizes ;in Israel, UK, Russia, China, Germany, Romania, Serbia, Belarus, Cuba and more. And with her composition Yizkerem, for a-cappella choir, she represented Israel at the Asian Composers League Festival, Taiwan (2018). Bracha Bdil is a member of the Israel Composers' League, her works are broadcast on the Israel Radio Voice of Music program and published by the Israel Music Institute and ICL. David Bohn received degrees in composition from the University of Wisconsin, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and the University of Illinois. He currently resides in West Allis, Wisconsin, and is the music coordinator at Peace Methodist Church in Brookfield. He is the President of the Wisconsin Alliance for Composers.
Hummingbirds attempts to capture as literally as possible the quick and aerobatic movements that hummingbirds are capable of making. The resulting composition requires a light and deft touch to capture the motion of this wonderful birds.

"Room 206" is dedicated to Yumi Suehiro as part of her Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame project and it includes a special effect developed by the composer that combines an on-the-string glissando combined with slight pedal motion. Room 206 is the composer's favorite classroom for teaching his theory courses.
Michael Coleman has participated as composer/pianist in numerous new music programs and festivals in the U.S. and Russia and has also had works performed in North & Central America, Europe, and Eurasia. He currently teaches at Pensacola State College and the University of West Florida.

Music is said to "express that which words cannot." The phrase suggests complex feelings that resist definition, but a great deal can be captured but never expressed through words, restrained by fear and denial. Yet these things, ill-defined and invisible, still demand to be heard. Hence the music.

"Sommersa" is a composition based on the harmonic superposition of two chords. These chords serve as bass for a modal chorale. The sounds that emerge are very important and very important are the evolutions of the harmony. There is no such thing as linear time. There is a variable time and space.

Resonances of a Cherry Blossom is a one-minute piano miniature inspired by the motif of the traditional folk song Sakura. Its structure follows the 5-7-5 syllabic pattern of a haiku. Muted keys create subtle resonances, blending fragility with strength. Like a cherry blossom: an ephemeral yet optimistic presence.
